Our firm's Principal, the Honourable Curtis Pitt, has a demonstrated record of achieving outcomes by leading teams and achieving business outcomes with a social conscience. For 20+ years, he has worked at the most senior levels of government and with the private sector to develop and implement effective economic and social policies for the benefit of Queensland. Of particular note was his work in the areas of trade, investment, infrastructure, resources, energy, and media & entertainment.

His strengths include an ability to solve complex problems by providing leadership, vision and world leading strategies to deliver strategic benefits. Honourable Pitt has a reputation for neutrality, integrity, fairness, and ethical behaviour.

PARLIAMENTARY EXPERIENCE

Honourable Pitt served in the Queensland Parliament 2009-2024 and was Speaker of the House 2018-2024. From February 2015 to December 2017, Honourable Pitt was the Treasurer of Queensland, overseeing the Government’s annual Budget of $55+ billion, driving the State’s $350+ billion economy. During this time, he was also Minister for portfolios including Trade and Investment, Employment and Industrial Relations, Energy and Water Supply, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, and Sport. He previously served as Minister for Disability Services and Mental Health, and was Acting Premier on numerous occasions.

TREASURY

As Treasurer, he championed Queensland as an investor-friendly state that was open for business. This economic strategy was endorsed by international rating agencies, Moody’s, Fitch, and Standard & Poor’s, and drove the issuance of the government’s first Green Bond for domestic and international investors. He also introduced Social Benefit Bonds to support increased social impact investment. 

He was lead Shareholding Minister for all Government-Owned Corporations (GOCs) across ports, energy (generation/transmission/distribution) as well as Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and Queensland Rail. As Trade Minister he also oversaw the Queensland Government’s network of Trade and Investment Offices across the globe, and oversaw the Skilled and Business Migration program. ​

 

Funded the $5.6 billion Cross River Rail infrastructure project – integral to the future of SEQ public transport and securing the 2032 Olympic Games for Brisbane, and oversaw procurement of the $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project. He introduced Market-Led Proposals to allow the private sector to approach government with initiatives, delivering the $512 million Logan Motorway Enhancement project with Transurban, the $177 million Brisbane International Cruise Terminal with the Port of Brisbane, and the $1.1 billion redevelopment of the Herston Quarter.

 

In Far North Queensland, funded and delivered the $120 million Cairns Shipping Development Project and the $176 million Cairns Convention Centre upgrade – doubling its capacity. He was also pivotal in funding the James Cook University Innovation Centre at the Smithfield campus and the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC).

OTHER INITIATIVES & ACHIEVEMENTS 

 

  • Established the Queensland Productivity Commission, and implemented the National Injury Insurance Scheme in Queensland.
     

  • Expanded Defence Industry through the joint bid with German group Rheinmettal to secure the Land 400 armoured military vehicle contract for Queensland.
     

  • Introduced the Queensland Indigenous Procurement Policy (QIPP) to increase the value of Government contracts awarded to Indigenous businesses including in construction.
     

  • Modernised QSuper making the fund open to the public, which later resulted in the merger with SunSuper to form Australian Retirement Trust.
     

  • Announced policies to open up the Bowen Basin and Surat Basin, and Northwest Minerals Province to support the exploration and extraction of critical minerals, with responsibility for negotiating royalties agreements - including for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
     

  • Reformed mining rehabilitation with a Financial Provisioning Scheme for resources companies to either make a payment into a fund to cover potential future clean-up costs or be required to provide a surety.
     

  • Oversaw the merger of Ergon Energy and Energex to form Energy Queensland Ltd – the largest energy group in Australia, and announced the formation of Clean Co Ltd.
     

  • Funded the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and was also central to Queensland’s bid for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
     

  • As Minister for Sport was responsible for all government-owned major event venues in Queensland, and funded the North Queensland Cowboys (Queensland Country Bank) Stadium in Townsville and the Queensland Netball Centre (Nissan Arena).
     

  • Funded the Screen Queensland (SQ) Production Attraction Strategy to secure the production in Queensland of films such as Marvel’s Thor Ragnarok, DC’s Aquaman, and Dora the Explorer, and the fund continues to bring movies including Godzilla Vs Kong and the landmark film – Elvis.
     

  • Supported the development of the SQ Hemmant (Brisbane) Studios and later, as the Queensland Government Screen Champion, he was instrumental in conceptualising and delivering the SQ Cairns (Far North Queensland) Studios.


Since his retirement from politics, Honourable Pitt through Australian Screen Network (ASN) continues to develop the media and entertainment landscape in areas including film and television, screen infrastructure, technology, gaming, education, and training.

 

He is now a working Producer with film and television projects in development, and is a member of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) and Screen Producers Australia (SPA). 

 

Honourable Pitt is a Non-Executive Director of Far North Queensland Ports Corporation Ltd (Ports North), a Venture Partner with Puji, Chair of not-for-profit Cairns South Together, and is also on the Advisory Board for La Moneta International Group.

Partner and co-founder of Pitt & Partners, Tony Coombs is a senior media executive, producer, writer and commercial media and entertainment strategist with over 25 years' experience across producing film, documentary, television, digital and brand-funded content, alongside having directlybeing involved with international distribution.

As CEO of Harvest Pictures Group and co-founder of Australian Screen Network (ASN), Tony has produced delivered content to global platforms such as Netflix and Foxtel, SBS, Tubi, broadcast television in numerous countries, while playing a key role in bridging media partnerships across Australia, China, and the US.

Official partner of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), he co-creating its Asia Engagement Program which has led to numerous co-productions and market-entry initiatives throughoutthe Asia-Pacific and beyond.

 

Tony is a member of Screen Producers Australia (SPA) and has worked extensively in China, with deep expertise in cross-cultural media markets. He has a working history in Asia, with roles at Guangzhou TV, produced for Hunan TV and is at the forefront of writing and producing particularly in China. Tony is also a advisor to the Australia-China International film festival, supported by the film bureau of China and the China Producers Association.

Tony brings a rare ability to connect commercial frameworks with storytelling outcomes, developing new IP through his own writing.

His media and entertainment executive commercial background includes senior roles at ASX-listed Destra Corporation, Brand New Media, VEG, with extensive experience with major media agencies to create, produce and distribute international formats across multiple territories. Tony has significant brand management experience with Ogilvy, Mindshare, Coca-Cola, and Vodafone, and has worked in sales and marketing for brands such as Kingchrome.

Tony is also on the Advisory Board for La Moneta International Group.

Jason Humphreys

Jason Humphreys has extensive executive experience working with world leading organisations across Queensland's public and private sectors. He offers a unique combination of critical thinking and commercial acumen to craft strategic advisory solutions for business and government.

 

He has a track record of delivering world leading social and economic policies and infrastructure and brings valuable insight from his involvement in mega projects, export supply chains, port and rail infrastructure, energy generation and transmission, corporate restructures, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), business transformation, investment attraction, exclusive transactions, advanced manufacturing, AI and environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG). 

Jason is an experienced consultant and government advisor and has worked at Jacobs, CopperString, Queensland Treasury, CleanCo, and as Chief of Staff to the Queensland Treasurer and Premier’s Office Advisor.

 

He has led major projects in Treasury, as a Director in the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and as the Business Manager for Europe and Russia in Trade and International Operations, Department of the Premier and Cabinet, where he received the Achievement Award for Growing the Queensland Economy.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Strategic Leadership and consulting: Provision of strategy and business transformation services with world leading project management frameworks and end-to-end services for clients in advanced manufacturing, energy, health, transportation and water sectors.
     

  • Catalytic Infrastructure Projects: Development of the CopperString high voltage transmission line to facilitate transformative economic and jobs growth and promote critical minerals and renewable energy projects and investment. CopperString was acquired by the Queensland Government for delivery.
     

  • Energy Sector Transition: Establishment of CleanCo Queensland Limited, a new government owned energy company delivering clean energy solutions with flexible lower-emission energy generators to facilitate the energy transition and electrification of the Queensland economy.
     

  • Government Leadership: Served as a key economic advisor to five Queensland Governments (Premier, Deputy Premier, Treasurers) and implemented world leading policies and legislation to deliver new infrastructure and services. Coordinated the state budget processes across departments with prioritised funding for new hospitals and schools, public transport, Queens Wharf, 1WS, defence manufacturing, Social Benefit Bonds and introduction of Green Bonds (for sustainable infrastructure).

Jessie has demonstrated exceptional skills in business development, leadership, and philanthropy. As Chair of La Moneta Foundation, Jessie oversees initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and community empowerment.

Her work focuses on supporting education, mental health, and social welfare programs, ensuring meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities. Under her leadership, the La Moneta Foundation has expanded its reach, building partnerships and driving positive change.

As the CEO of De’Aurora Biotech, Jessie leads groundbreaking advancements in health and medical research. The company is dedicated to developing innovative solutions to some of the most pressing healthcare challenges. Allen Kwok

Allen is a seasoned professional with a robust career spanning multiple sectors and regions. With a foundation in finance, business development, and corporate management, he has demonstrated his expertise through senior roles within Invest Victoria and Global Victoria for the Australian Victorian Government, as well as major corporations across Australia, Hong Kong, and China.

 

Allen brings strategic insight and experience on behalf of clients. His journey with the Victorian Government began in 2006, where he ascended through multiple leadership roles, including Chief Representative of Hong Kong, Investment Director, and Trade Director, fostering investment and trade opportunities for over a decade until 2023, covering Southern China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.


Allen is also a Principal Advisor at La Moneta International Group in Melbourne, where he is involved in their Foundation works and commercial projects.


His earlier career includes key positions such as Acting CFO for Mandra Forestry in Anhui, and Executive Director & Chief Representative for Greater China at WesTrac China in Beijing. Additionally, he held roles as Corporate Finance Manager at Baulderstone Hornibrook in Sydney, Times Square Project Director at Wharf in Shanghai, and Senior Manager at Chuang’s Group in Hong Kong.


Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Allen is well-equipped to navigate and thrive in diverse cultural and geopolitical business environments. He has been actively involved in business associations, with over 17 years in The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau, and over 16 years in the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.


Academically, Allen holds an MBA from the State University of New York (USA), and a BA from York University, Toronto (Canada).
